My Favorite Middletown Donut

I was just filling out some profile online and the question in the profile was: "What are your favorite things in your City?" My answer was "Milton's Doughnuts, Game Stop and My Wife". Now if you are not into computer games, or stunningly beautiful women that's ok, because Middletown is home to the worlds best doughnut shop.

I have been going to Milton's doughnuts since I was old enough to remember. My dad would take me on Saturday mornings and I will never forget the smell of the doughnuts or the ring of the bell on the door as we would walk in their shop. At the time, 1970 something, Milton's was on Charles Street. We lived on Monroe Street so I was a lot closer then.

I think perhaps those visits to Milton's, along with a few walks to the soda fountain at the drug store on Central Avenue, were just a few of the things that made being a kid in Middletown so special.

A Special Thanks To PFC Dillon Bomar

I believe it was Martin Luther King Jr. who once said "In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends."

In en effort to break that silence I wanted to give a special thanks, not only for the miniature uniform PFC Bomar and his fellow soldiers sent my son Nathan, but for the service and sacrifice they are making for the future of my son.

Though I do not know if PFC Bomar will ever see this post perhaps some day in the distant future he or some one now serving with him in Iraq will find this and know that at least one total stranger was grateful for their service to our country.

Chicago Computer Rentals - Where The Going Gets Tough

Chicago Computer Rentals looks to be my first tough project with Xponex Web and Media Services. In the past I have helped them with smaller markets or more vertical products but this time there is no getting around it. The customer wants to go after the Google term "Chicago Computer Rentals". I threw a plan together but I am really not sure how long the project could take or how long the customer, Rentacomputer.com, will want to keep the project going. On key words as competitive as Chicago Computer Rental it could take some time to see any improvement in Google search results. Especially since Rentacomputer.com is already in the number 3 spot. Perhaps if we are lucky one of the guys above us will move their domain to another hosting company and just botch the entire thing giving us a free shot at their spot. San Jose Security Camera Systems

We are featuring San Jose Security Systems this month at Camera Security Now. Yesterday we closed a partnership deal with a local San Jose Security Firm and we are very optimistic that business in the bay area will pick up as both of our firms work on promotions and basic customer service.

Another useful bit of marketing we just put out is a page on how CCTV can be better than IP even in the Silicon Valley. But this may be a tough sell as I would imagine most of the misleading IP propaganda comes from that part of the country..

What I need to do is talk our partner, A Surveillance Camera Company Inc, into allowing Xponex.com (our web development company) to take over their website design. But one thing at a time.

In recent months the news has been full of stories about the internet and "Blogs". I admit that a year ago I had no clue what a Blog was and when our CEO asked me to get involved in Blogging I was horrified. In hindsight Blogging is not half as bad as I thought it would be and I have learned a lot abut computers and technology from the Blogs I read and post to. As the rental business is often on the bleeding edge of technology the Computer Rental Blog is full of information on new technologies and products. What I like about the Computer Rental Blog is that they take it one step further and actually write about about how these technologies are being used by business. MiddletownUSA.com - Balloon Video of 2007 MidFirst Ohio Challenge

Good job MiddletownUSA.com and Rumford Productions for your work getting so much information and video of  the Middletown 2007 MidFirst Challenge out to the web. PC Rental - Just a Computer Rental without an "s" at the end.

The PC Rental business at the upper levels of the industry is really a small and competitive place. Most of the owners know each other on a first name basis and just like with any other small group there are those who genuinely get along, those who pretend to for the sake of business, and those who don't and make no bones about it. All personality traits aside there is another downside to being in such a small group and that is everyone watches what every one else does with their website. Recently a struggle has emerged over something so small as a single Google search phrase. That being the phrase "PC Rental". To an outsider this may seam trivial but there are multimillion dollar business whose primary domain name is built around the phrase "PC Rental". Recently we here at Rentacomputer.com have tried to improve our Google search results on "PC Rental" but have had little to no luck. It has been quite perplexing as we far and away out pace our competition on almost every Google indicator but yet we can not compete with firms who have the PC Rental phrase as their domain name. So we are going to stick to the basics and try to compete with good content, quality inbound links, and common sense. But if anyone could shed some light on how Google looks at key words when embedded in the actual domain name I would interested to hear your thoughts.
